Second trimester is underway and things are finally picking up around here (check out last months blog). As my health and energy improve so does the vibrancy of our once dormant homeschool.
(Jars of loose parts for art, sensory, construction or whatever!)
I’ve come back with a bang too! I rearranged all of our materials and homeschool spaces for better functionality. I went crazy and have lots more ideas! Let’s call it “nesting” or spring cleaning! Tis the season.
(Revolving shelves with Science, math, and literacy provocations to be explored at their own will!)
The love and attention I’ve paid to our homeschool spaces have made a huge impact on our homeschool life.
(my homeschool closet! This is where I store all of the materials we aren’t using but will soon. Science jars and nature bits, math manipulative, art supplies, loose parts, construction materials, literacy supports, over flow books, block play materials, sensory materials, baksets, etc.)
The nature table is once again busy with sketches of mushrooms and bird skeletons, wild mushrooms for observations from the garden, and more!
(For over a year bird homes and nests have been a running interest in the thread of our homeschool. I set up a small area for all of them and books that correlate!)
The art table is bustling with dino-painting and self regulated paint/clay/animal open-ended dramatic play art!
And more importantly we are back out into the world! Ready to explore! And to our surprise and delight with some lovely friends! I have desired to start a meet-up group for some time now. We’ve desired to explore nature with a regular group in an informal relaxed manner. The Lord provides! Most of the moms in our tiny church homeschool and were interested too! After one or two meet-ups together outside of church I knew that this was our little group! So introducing our informal Charolette Mason (with a dash of Reggio) inspired nature co-op!
Oh ya and our goal for this month: STAY OUTSIDE!!
May we do all things to connect with and learn from each other ✨
